Here are a few pictures of typical Rotax
503 engines used on the Falcon XP
This happens to be an early version 503,
an adaptation of the snowmobile engine, without provisions for reduction gear
box.
The belt system was supported by adapters
to the engine base and cylinder head studs. Note the primitive Briggs and
Stratton lawnmower type starter. It worked !
