This modification stiffens and strengthens the rear fuselage section which tends to deform and ultimately buckle under severe conditions ( see picture ), such as hard landings or wind storms as the one shown in the photo. It consists of a one inch piece of foam, sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass. It gets installed at an angle, per red line on the pictures here and gets glassed in with 2" fiberglass tape at the edges. Greatly reduces noise too. A central hole or a couple of small ones allow for cables and fuel lines.
